Peppli live is a serious-comedy movie with profound message to the viewers.

The story of revolves around poor farmers Nattha and his family. Nattha lives in a small village of MP (Mukhya Pradesh supposed to be Madhya Pradesh) had taken a loan from bank and as usual other farmers, he failed to pay the EMIs and Bank decided to sale his land to cover the dept . Nattha the protagonist, at the verge of losing his family land, decided to suicide as post suicide his family will get the compensation, with which they can pay his dept and save the land. The story takes a U turn when his problem becomes the “Media Bite”. The media made him martyr and turned it to a big political/social plot and later it became the biggest issue in the upcoming elections. What happen to Nattha, his family and land –Watch the movie :-)

This Movie does not seems to be a comedy by its plot, infect looks a super serious movie right? But it reminds me about Charlie Chaplin, who did a serious comedy where situation make you laugh but not the back ground laughs or poor jokes. The protagonist “Nattha” genuine act of innocent villager make you laugh on his problematic situation with flashy media. The true character of 24X7 news channel and there greed of TRPs will also make you laughs.

Omkar did a fantastic job as “Nattha”, playing a innocent villager. He was the villager in Chhattisgarh, which gives him extra edge on character. Raguvir Yadav as usual at its best on his character of brother of “Nattha” .The chemistry between Nattha’s wife and mother is superb, very much similar to “Saasa-Bahu story. Nowaz as a local reporter searching for true generalism looked balanced here. Naseeruddin Shah was well representing the bureaucratic machinery.

Anusha did a very good job of writing and directing this movie, a overall good entertainment package with very meaningful message on farmer relocation, poverty, politics and role of media in this amalgam.

Music is from Indian Ocean, as usually great with touching lyrics.

PS- The language of movie is somewhere Chhattisgarhi and MP mix gives a real touch of village but also some abuses makes it a non family movie.

Overall rating as per my opinion is 4 out of 5
